Many of the problems that we encounter as Christians emanate from
strongholds that have been established in us in our formative years.
These areas where we lack true freedom are usually thought-based.
They generally revolve around us operating from our perceived beliefs
about our identity, how others see us and also how we should respond to
these inner activities.
The Bible makes a distinction between the thoughts of our hearts and
the knowledge that we have compiled in our conscious mind. We understand
then that what we know logically is truth to which we attribute mental
assent, but it is not necessarily ‘truth that sets us free.’ Often we need truth in the inner parts for lasting freedom.
The apostle Paul struggled with this area of knowing in his mind what
he wanted to do but at the same time having other desires within
himself working against him...Listen to the Message.
